I’m 5’2” and she’s a bit over 5’8.” I’m short, I know.
Because you can’t expect the two of us to attend a wedding and spend time in Florida together and for there to not be cute pictures to show for it! The top one was taken outside of the condo right before the wedding, the bottom left one was taken from my phone while we were at the wedding, and the bottom right one was taken yesterday morning after we got back from our walk and our beach breakfast date.
So I had a great time in Florida. Although it was a short trip (and an even shorter trip for/with Mara, since she flew in half a day after I did and left half a day before I did), I’m really glad I was able to go and that she was able to join me. I had a great time showing her around the town in which I used to live.
The wedding was great, too. We were a bit late to the ceremony, between my anxiety attack over which dress to wear (I brought all three down with me and ended up wearing the black one), getting stuck at the Camino Real bridge, and being directed not to the church but to a gated community by the GPS, but it all worked out in the end; we didn’t get there too late and we weren’t the last people to arrive. The reception was a ton of fun and it was just great to not only be there to watch one of my best friends get married, but to also reunite with all of my other close friends for the first time in a while. It was also fun because it was the first formal event in which Mara and I attended together. I’m really glad she was able to be there with me, and awkward dancing with her was actually quite fun. :p
I wish my trip to Florida was longer, since I hadn’t visited in a solid year before this and besides my two day visit in August after we move my sister into school (she’s going to the University of Tampa), I have no other trips planned to visit, but I know I’ll eventually be back. I also know that no matter how much I’d like for them to be, things are not the same as they were when I lived there, and I have to learn to accept this. I already miss the warm ocean water and smooth sand beaches, but I know I’ll be back for a few days in a few months and then as soon as possible after that. I’m just really glad that i was able to go down for the weekend, and that Mara was able to join me. After three years of dating, it’s about time that she got to see what my life was like for the five years before I met her.
I’m home from Florida!
I had a great time. I’ll post more about it later, I’m pretty tired now. It was beautiful out a few hours ago so I was about to take a drive to the beach, but it suddenly started storming (I think I took the afternoon thunderstorm thing home from Florida with me!) so I’m going to nap instead.
Ah you guys are the best! I was not expecting to come home to see this many responses! I feel really loved. <3
I will most likely be bringing the first dress and the black dress with me (my mom, sister, and girlfriend agreed that those were a bit better than the third one, although they also really liked how the third one looks), and then decide when I’m down there. I know the whole thing about not wearing a black dress to a wedding (and I didn’t really want to wear black because it’s Florida in June), but I think I like how that one looks on me the best. Either way, I’ll figure it out and let you all know as soon as possible!
Also, Victoria, Mara’s wearing a blue dress. Neither one of the patterned dresses would go with hers. :p
